Find California Bars on your cell phone!
The Cell Phone version of California Bar Guide allows you to search our database direct from your phone. In return you get live results with all the same information that you do on the web sites, including Descriptions, Events, and Reviews.
How It Works...
We have set-up a streamlined, mobile specific version of the site that cuts out the graphics and just gives you the information you need.
Because of the limitations of the phone we have made some changes to the version you are familiar with on the web;
When you get the search results we only show the overall rating. You can see all ratings by selecting the pub but showing all 4 on the one search screen was just impractical.
Currently you can search for premises but you can't enter a new premises or review.
What You Need...
If you have a mobile with an XHTML browser, and most phones sold in the last 2 years have these, all you need to do is open the browser (on a Nokia this is known as services but the terminology and exact operation vary from phone to phone so please check the instructions for your own model) and enter the address http://mobile.californiabarguide.com
You'll see a simple search screen. Enter as much information as you require and you'll get back the list of pubs that meet the criteria. Open one to get more details.
This is a modified service designed especially for mobile phones so, while you can access it from your PC, it doesn't look good that way...
