Review Submitted Oct 7, 2010 Body in the Bog is BACK! i just found out a couple of weeks ago, so i am a little late on the news. But the great thing is the place is back to its original glory! John, the owner before Mike ran the Body aground, has made the place tip-top shape again.
If you have a hankering for Old Speckled Hen, this is th eonly place in Fresno that has it--ON TAP! That is a big deal for fans out there.
Basically this place, with more than 100 beers is the perfect place for beginers to connoissuers. pale ale lovers to hearty stout fans have a home here.
the only setback, it's been closed for a while so the word needs to get out that this place is up and running. So lads and lasses grab a few mates and get ye arses down to the PUB! - Tai, USA

Review Submitted Aug 28, 2010 Well, I'm thrilled! Unfortunately, this place is WAY too far away to drive from where I live, without a designated driver, but the reason I'm thrilled is that it apparently still exists! I do not get the chance to visit often, but was telling a friend about it, did an internet search, and found far too few mentions in the last year, many mentioning that new owners (name was changed to Moynihan's), it appeared, seemed to have let the place slip? BUT, joy hit when one site mentioned that it has RE-OPENED in May of 2010, with the ORIGINAL owner, John, and again as Body-in-the Bog.
John is one of the friendliest, most unpretentious, unassuming folks you'd ever hope to meet, with a vast knowledge about almost anything beer-related. He was when I last saw him, regularly traveling the world in search of different beers, and his stock reflected that: LOTS of items that may not even be available in LA or San Francisco, with knowing background stories from John. His attitude is that customers are there to be served, and he is great at sharing his encyclopedic knowledge with anyone who is interested.
If your best beer is Bud Light, you won't find it here, but if you want the brewing history, and a taste of Beamish Irish Stout, go have a talk with John!
Atmosphere- don't go here if you insist on having Hip-Hop music blaring so loud you can't hear your neighbor unless they scream! This is a place to go and actually talk to someone, relax, and enjoy. I believe there actually IS music at times, but it is in the background, not overwhelming everything for blocks. Classic Irish pub appearance and friendliness. Classy but comfortable, never obnoxious, never pretentious. I could go on forever, but - "RUSH to try it"! - Steve, USA
